Shake off your work week with a mind, body and spirit awakening yoga class tailored for all levels!

We’ll start off gently with centering and breathing techniques and move into yoga poses to increase flexibility, build strength and reduce stress. Class focuses on relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, alignment and a variety of standing, seated and reclining poses. Move at your own pace and modify poses to soften or intensify your practice.

Chair Yoga For Your Workday

Chair Yoga is a gentle form of Yoga that is practiced in a chair or standing using a chair for support to improve flexibility, strengthen muscles, and relieve tension from sitting for too long.

Chair Yoga can be done at the comfort of your desk in business attire, no need to change! Join Melissa to learn how to incorporate breathing exercises, stretches, and Yoga poses into your busy workday. Incorporating Yoga into your workday helps to relieve stress and tension, increase energy, and improve overall well-being.

Chair yoga is also great if you are new to yoga and want to learn some new stretches! Chair yoga is perfect for everyone and can be done anywhere and anytime! No prior Yoga experience is necessary.

About me: Years ago I found myself in a rut struggling with anxiety, insomnia and chronic neck pain. I was going through the motions of life frustrated and unhappy. One day I asked myself “is this as good as it gets?” The universe seemed to respond quickly as I soon found myself in a yoga class breathing, twisting and turning without a clue as to what I was doing. After that yoga class the light bulb went off as I walked out blissful and hopeful! I had no idea that I had just taken my first steps onto a new path that would completely reshape my life. I was hooked, and that feeling has been bringing me back to my mat every day! I began practicing yoga and meditation regularly and I could see that my life was changing, I was sleeping better, was less anxious and my neck pain disappeared. In a short amount of time I was off the medication, I was feeling fantastic and truly enjoying my life.

As I continued to practice yoga my desire to deepen my practice grew, I enrolled in a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training through Kripalu School of Yoga. After graduation, I decided to share my passion with the world and began teaching yoga and meditation regularly. My passion for yoga shines in each class. I have a dynamic teaching style which incorporates physical benefits, alignment and artistic sequencing. I strive to create a safe space that allows each student to explore their own unique practice with compassion, safely navigate their edge and embrace self-observation without judgment.

Teaching yoga and meditation inspires me to continuously grow and learn more, following my Kripalu training I completed training’s in Restorative Yoga through Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts, Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga through Yoga-Water, Reiki Levels 1 & 2 and First Aid, CPR and AED.

Over the last 5 years I have taught over 2,000 yoga and meditation classes for individuals, small groups, yoga studios and corporations throughout the Hartford, CT area. Currently, I offer one-on-one and small group yoga, SUP yoga, meditation, and reiki sessions, corporate yoga, meditation and meditation conference calls in Glastonbury, CT and the Hartford, CT area.
