Drumming In Spirit
November 10, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$15Drumming In Spirit – with Lynne Hartwell
No previous musical experience required.
Drumming in circles is an ancient practice performed by many Indigenous cultures for thousands of years. In it the people connected within themselves, the community (other drummers) and with the Earth & Universe. Today drum circles help us to re-connect with our ancestors and our pasts-to a time when life was simpler, calmer, more balanced. It is also very healing as it helps us to center, balance, focus and “grounds” us-helping us to forget our worries and truly enjoy one another.
This is a mixed group of drummers where beginners can join in with more experienced drummers in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Lynne will help guide the circle, and encourage participants in trying different rhythms, singing, etc. There is no obligation to doing this however, you can simply come and enjoy the event-especially if you have any physical, spiritual, or emotional issues as the power of the circle promotes healing.
Bring your own instruments and water to drink. Some drums and other instruments are available if you do not have your own.
Tuesday, November 10th: 7-8:30PM. $10.00/person
Lynne Hartwell has been participating in various drum circles through the years, and plays a variety of musical instruments. She has also been in different performance groups such as the Waves of Rhythm (African Djembe) and most currently with the Sacred Sorrow Singers (Indigenous drums).
She has hosted drum circles throughout CT. Her specialty is to connect others to a deeper spirituality within themselves through the drum and other instruments. The result has been that people from all backgrounds can connect to the rhythm that exists within and to be able to find a deeper peace and harmony through music.
