Author Here – Between Good And Evil, Curse of Windsor’s Daughter

Author Beth Caruso is a local resident who has spent the last ten years honoring the Connecticut witch trial victims through writing, research and exoneration efforts both in Windsor and in the Connecticut General Assembly.
Her historical novel series, The Connecticut Witch Trials Trilogy starts with One of Windsor: the Untold Story of America’s First Witch Hanging, life of early Windsor resident, Alice ‘Alse’ Young. Infused with real history, herbalism and more, readers see Alice as not just someone who was a witch trial victim, but also someone deeply loved and connected to family.
The second novel in the series, The Salty Rose: Alchemists, Witches and A Tapper in New Amsterdam, recounts the role that alchemy played in stopping the witch hangings in Connecticut after the Hartford Witch Panic and Dutch efforts to rescue their own during those persecutions.
Finally, the third novel in the series, Between Good & Evil: Curse of the Windsor Witch’s Daughter, tells the story of Windsor’s second witch trial victim, Lydia Gilbert, through the eyes of Alyssa, Alice Young’s daughter. It’s a story of a daughter’s devotion and passionate attempts at excavating authentic memory to honor her lost mother, eventually leading to her own healing.
